Short Description
Cotton cushion 'Storm at sea' with geometric patterns in yellow and gray using foundation paper piecing.
Details
The 'Storm at sea' cushion is a striking example of quilt artistry. This piece, one of my favorites, showcases a traditional quilt block design executed through the foundation paper piecing technique.
The cushion features a dynamic geometric pattern in shades of orange and brown. The interplay of these colors creates a visual rhythm, reminiscent of a turbulent sea, as suggested by the piece's name. This illusion of movement is enhanced by the clever arrangement of the quilt blocks, which gives the impression of circular motion within the square format.
The design's complexity invites viewers to explore the interplay between form and color, drawing parallels to the natural phenomena it represents.
